If you were a faithful fan of HGTV’s Fixer Upper, you’ve probably wondered how much Chip and Joanna Gaines charged for their services. Here’s what we know.
Why Chip and Joanna Gaines left Fixer Upper
The couple said one of the reasons they left is because the taping schedule was starting to wear on them. The pair had been filming 11 months out of the year since the show began in 2013. Another reason they’re called it quits is because they were expecting their fifth child. Chip and Joanna told the Today show they want to slow down and give more time to their family.
Can you hire Chip and Joanna Gaines?
If you have an old home that needs renovation, you’re out of luck. According to the Magnolia website, they are only doing new builds. The couple is no longer doing renovations or fixer uppers. Here’s what it said on the website: “If you live in Waco, or are moving to Waco, and are interested in one of our new builds, you can get in touch with our agents at MagnoliaRealty.com to find out more information. We would love to talk about what Magnolia Homes and Magnolia Realty can do to help you find your own Fixer Upper here in Waco!”
And if you live far from Waco, Texas, it’s unlikely you could work directly with Chip and Joanna. The Magnolia site makes it clear the couple is committed working near their home: “If you do not live in Waco, and are not moving to Waco, then sadly, no…We believe in the importance of home and family, and traveling for a remodel project would put unnecessary strain on our families and children… Chip and Joanna have chosen to only work within a 30-mile radius of Waco.”
How much Chip and Joanna charged on Fixer Upper
Those who appeared on HGTV’s Fixer Upper had to shell out some serious cash. Cast members were required to put down a minimum of $30,000 for renovations, in addition to the cost of purchasing their home, reports Romper.
Will Fixer Upper come back?
Chip and Joanna let everyone know they will be making a return to television. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Chip and Joanna said they will be getting their own TV network. After Fallon asked if the couple would ever make a return to TV, Chip had this to say:
We signed a non-disclosure and it said, quote unquote, you can tell your mother but that’s it. So, mom, I just wanted to make a quick announcement, we are coming back to television. You’re gonna get to get to see the kids grow up, you’ll get see us, with maybe a six-month delay like the rest of the world, but we’re excited to be back.
However, it doesn’t look like Fixer Upper will make a return (although we’re keeping our fingers crossed). Since the couple is no longer doing fixer uppers, and only new builds, we don’t think the show will be resurrected.
